The pickin's were pretty slim this year. The weather started out fine with just the right amount snow, but then it turned warm and sloppy. By the end of season we were packing the carcasses with ice. Saturday of the second weekend opened to a warm rain so we broke camp and started skinning deer before they "aged" too much. There was no getting out of the shack road without 4 wheel drive but the bottom held up under the mud. Erik didn't figure out that he had a free doe tag until Thanksgiving Day. He had passed on several nice ones all week but wasted no time filling it right after the Packer game.
